🔶I am a member of British acupuncture council..

With over 3,000 members, the British Acupuncture Council (BAcC) is the UK’s largest regulatory body for practitioners of traditional acupuncture. As a founding member of the Professional Standards Authority’s Accredited Voluntary Register (AVR), the BAcC upholds the highest standards of training, safety, and professional conduct.

Acupuncturists who are members of the BAcC use the post-nominal letters MBAcC (Member of the British Acupuncture Council). Choosing a BAcC-registered practitioner ensures:

  • High-quality training — a minimum of three years at degree level, covering anatomy, physiology, and key aspects of Western medicine;

  • Strict adherence to the BAcC’s Codes of Safe Practice and Professional Conduct;

  • Full compliance with current health and safety legislation;

  • Comprehensive insurance for medical malpractice, public, and product liability;

  • Continual professional development to maintain up-to-date knowledge and clinical skills.
